OBS Plugin · last updated 28 October 2026
OBS Plugin is a set of plugins for OBS Studio that run on the streamer's own computer. This policy covers what they do with Google user data.
What the plugins access
With your consent, given on Google's sign-in screen for the YouTube scope youtube.force-ssl, the plugins:
- read your channel's name, to show which account is signed in;
- find your broadcast that is live;
- read and update that broadcast's title and description;
- upload a thumbnail for it.
They use nothing else from your Google account.
Where the data goes
The plugins call Google's APIs straight from your computer. There is no server of ours in between: nothing is sent to the developer or to anyone else, and there are no analytics.
The sign-in Google gives the plugins (a refresh token) is kept on your computer only, encrypted for your Windows account with the Windows Data Protection API. The match results the plugins record stay in files on your computer.
How the data is used
Google user data is used only for the features above. It is not sold, not shared with or transferred to anyone, not used for advertising, and not used to develop, improve or train AI or machine-learning models.
OBS Plugin's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing access
Signing out in a plugin's settings deletes its token from your computer and revokes it at Google. You can also remove OBS Plugin's access at any time under Third-party apps & services in your Google Account.
